Thirty Years Ago in Afghan Rescue

ALFIE
Alfie was one of the first dogs I rehomed approximately 30 years ago. He was found as a stray, his coat matted solid and very underweight. The vet said he had suffered from clinical rickets. His legs were a bit twisted. He stayed with us for a few weeks, we clipped him off, fed him up and spoilt him rotten. This is a picture of him in his new home which was only three miles from us. He was a lovely, gentle boy and went on to live a happy and contented life.

Also 30 years ago I dealt with a case after I received a phone call from a woman to say she had a litter of puppies she couldn't sell and if I didn't pick them up she would have them put to sleep. When we arrived they were in a small cage on the lawn and were very malnourished and undersized. They were 12 weeks old but looked about half that age. She said she had no room for them and couldn't afford to feed them.
Cardiff 30 Years On
Thirty years on, the same thing happens again. This litter was handed in to a "dog pound" because the owner could not sell them by the age of 8 weeks. With the love and care of their new owners, all have grown into happy, healthy adults.
